Neighborhood Roots Food Collective exists to support community members and local farmers in growing the food that we eat, while helping to ensure that all of our neighbors have access to nourishing, locally-produced food.

Eat Local

Food is more than just what we eat.

It’s about Relationships.
With our neighbors, with our farmers, with the land.

It’s about Sharing with and Caring for one another.

It’s about Empowerment and Security.
Knowing we can feed ourselves. Right. Here.

Good food shouldn’t be a privilege, it’s for ALL of us.

Growing, Sharing, Preserving, Enjoying, Empowering, Together
Local…Wonderful…Delicious…Food.

Recent News and Food for Thought:

  • Fedco Group Order – Save on Seeds, Potatoes/Exotics, & Grow Supplies!

It’s that time again! Last year we reached the maximum discount level for almost all Fedco divisions. Plus, our orders are sales tax exempt again this year thanks to Neighborhood Roots Food Collective’s nonprofit status. Buy together and save, as they say!

    Order Deadline: December 31, 2022

Placing Your Order: You will place your individual order via the Fedco website.
*NOTE: Each Fedco division has a unique group order number and you must place a separate order for each division:

    1. Go to the Fedco website. Log in using your own email address.
    2. When you review your order prior to checking out, be sure to click the ‘Part of a Group’ checkbox. Then go to ‘Check Out Securely’ and type in the group order number for the division you are shopping for (see above) where indicated. Enter your own address & phone number when placing the order.
    3. You will receive a confirmation email at the address you used to log in. Until I finalize the group’s order, Fedco cannot confirm receipt of your order (so, check with me if you’re unsure about anything).

Payment: Soon after we close out our group order (Dec. 31st), we will send you an email invoice with your adjusted amount due. You can pay with cash, check, Venmo, Paypal, or SNAP/EBT (only on food-producing seeds/tubers). If you pay with EBT, you’ll also get a 50% Crop Cash discount! Please pay within a week of receiving an email invoice from me because we need to pay Fedco when we finalize our group order. If you’d like to make a donation to support the work of Neighborhood Roots Food Collective, feel free to add some $$ to your total.

Getting Your Stuff: Pickup for all items will be at Comfrey Commons in Guilford or at Walker Farm (if you prefer) for depot shipment items. See Fedco website for approximate shipping dates. We’ll contact you when things are on their way.

Feel free to share this info with anyone else who might be interested. And let me know if you have any questions.

BTW – We’ll also be organizing a group order for West River Seeds of Townsend, VT again this year. That will open in January, when Toni updates her catalog.
