Together we can make our local food system stronger and ensure that all our neighbors are well fed. We want to collaborate, connect, and share ideas with everyone in our community, so please get in touch.

How It Started

Brought together by a shared interest in strengthening our community and local food systems, Guilford residents Julie Beet, Jody Hauser, and Anna Klein founded Neighborhood Roots Food Collective in 2020.

Julie Bete

Julie seeks balance between modern and ancient technologies through her roles as co-founder of Vermont Digital Arts and owner of UbU Botanicals. As an herbalist and avid gardener, she strives to bring beauty to land, home, family, and community.

Jody Hauser

Jody grew up in the garden and the kitchen. Growing food and sharing the meal was central to her childhood and that remains true for her today. As a librarian and teacher, Jody finds ways to share her love of gardening and the outdoors with some of Guilford’s youngest residents.

Anna Klein

Anna loves to spend time with plants. She is a worker-owner at Regenerative Design Group and runs Comfrey Commons, a small pay-what-you-want plant nursery in Guilford. Anna also gets very excited about local food and building a sharing economy.
